Shower Screen Seals for the UK Trade: Buying Direct from the Factory

UK bathrooms use their own mix of glass: 6 and 8 mm frameless screens, 4 and 5 mm on older bath screens and framed doors, and plenty of quadrant and offset-quadrant enclosures. Replacement seals for all of these are sold through UK stockists, trade counters and online shops, and most of those seals are made in China.

GoldRays is one of the factories that makes them. We are a shower seal manufacturer in Foshan, China, founded in 2001, and we supply distributors, fabricators and enclosure brands direct.

Who in the UK trade buys direct from a factory

  • Seal and spares distributors stocking hundreds of profiles under their own name.
  • Shower enclosure brands that need the same seal on every door, in their own packaging.
  • Glass fabricators and installers fitting the same few profiles every week.
  • Online sellers building a replacement seal range.

If you need one seal for one job, a UK stockist will be faster. If you buy by the hundred metres, factory-direct is cheaper per metre and lets you specify the compound.

Our published models cover 4 to 15 mm glass. If a seal on an older UK enclosure has been discontinued, send us a photo of the seal end next to a ruler, the glass thickness and the gap, and we match it from our 3,200+ moulds or quote a new profile (tooling typically USD 300 to 400).

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell to UK homeowners? No. We supply businesses. Homeowners are best served by a UK stockist or retailer.

Can you match a Merlyn, Coram or Kudos seal? We match by glass thickness, position and profile shape, not by brand name, because each brand uses different seals across its ranges. Send a sample or photo and we confirm the match.

What glass thicknesses are common in the UK? 6, 8 and 10 mm on most modern enclosures, and 4 and 5 mm on older bath screens and framed doors. Measure the glass at the edge with calipers before ordering.
